Ladybug of June

Ladybug of June

A Poem by L.D.

Hang me out to dry
It's only a matter of moments
It's only a matter of concern

We change more frequently than the moon changes phase
Always struggling to keep up
To hold on just a bit more tightly

I am larger and I am stronger
Faster and maybe even smarter
But you darling know that you keep all of the power in your back pocket

Your eyes tell me that it's for safekeeping
And I believe them

All of the momentum
All of the force

I only ask that when you finally pull me from the water and hang me out to dry
Bring with you a cool breeze that is well acquainted with warm hands and your trademark soft smile

I find this poem very interesting.
The first verse "Hang me out to dry" captured my attention. The first thing that came to my mind when I read it was the song from Cold War Kids, which I like a lot ^_^

I really like these verses too:
"We change more frequently than the moon changes phase
Always struggling to keep up
To hold on just a bit more tightly"

It is so true, we change so much, trying to keep up with the flow of life. Holding on to so many things, sometimes even holding on too tightly to things we shouldn't.

Its good. I like it. :)

It kinda reminded me of Sloth, when you give them a bath and hang them out to dry.
