Ladybug of JuneA Poem by L.D.
Hang me out to dry
It's only a matter of moments It's only a matter of concern We change more frequently than the moon changes phase Always struggling to keep up To hold on just a bit more tightly I am larger and I am stronger Faster and maybe even smarter But you darling know that you keep all of the power in your back pocket Your eyes tell me that it's for safekeeping And I believe them All of the momentum All of the force I only ask that when you finally pull me from the water and hang me out to dry Bring with you a cool breeze that is well acquainted with warm hands and your trademark soft smile
