Navel Fleam

Navel Fleam

A Poem by nadia dmitri
"

Salt water in a fresh stream

"

Breast suckled lamb to the slaughter

Skipping voice across the water

Bleeding tongue of a daughter

The wicked sea an alma mater

A widow drenched and naked

She’s strangling her hatred

Her kingdom’s been invaded

Her speeches mistranslated

Tell them what was taken

Swapped a life for a maiden

Every inch of skin mistaken

A wanton girl forsaken

Me, I’ve been a hoarse scream

Salt water in a fresh stream

Her going eyes did gleam

Suicide a navel fleam

Highly symbolic this poem is filled with vivid images and metaphor. It speaks again at a much deeper level.

Thank you always Soren :)
The daughter voice boomed after birth only can bring such a joy...
But seen things on life, can feel it an other way ... ( Well to be honest, I was... trailed off with no words about the same feel)..
The metaphor of last santza is strong...
But I don't get it... I felt like some rage inside the poem... very intriguing...

I must say... tears streaming when thinking about it... as I see salt water in a fresh stream.
