Allowed Me To

Allowed Me To

A Poem by nadia dmitri

And I would’ve married you

And I would’ve married you

If you had allowed me to

I could be the something blue

While you hunt for something new

I just saw a film about Drew Peterson who probably murdered all four of his wives.
He liked getting married, loved the honeymoon and then immediately started looking elsewhere
for love.
This reminds me of that...and this speaker would have been lucky not to be allowed to.

Interesting connection! I always appreciate your reviews :)
Ah I love poems like this. Although short the word play is wonderful and with good rhyme as well makes it all the better. Charming
