Letters From No OneA Poem by Nathan SmithWith a flourish of the pen And the signing of her name She finishes the letter And seals it in an envelope. There is no return address And is mailed without a stamp So that he will never receive The words she could never say to him. She doesn't know why But she’s done it for years; Writing letters to fill The cavernous hole deep inside. It is a sense of completion, A feeling of finality that she Can only find with a flourish of the pen And the signing of her name. © 2016 Nathan SmithReviews
