Poetry

When asked to define poetry this is what I came up with.

Poetry are the emotions from my insides gutted out onto a piece of paper.

It's capturing a feeling in the moment and trapping it. It's the shovel that digs into the deepest grounds of your mind. Forcing you to dissect the findings and study them in attempt to make sense of the content.

Poems are secrets becoming alive after the time spent below the dirt. And the signal of their heartbeat is is the sign that prevents the headstones from keeping them buried forever.

Poetry is the pill that allows your mind to expand and view the world in a different way. Poetry is building something from materials we didn't know existed.
