Reality

One's scared to open up..not knowing what to expect.
Too scared of not knowing what to do or how to please.
You let them in feeling small and shy.
Yet they build you up..make you feel extraordinary and alive.
They give you strength..speak words of love.
You let them come in and allow them to take anything they can get ahold of.
Let them take away your sorrow, your pain, your heart.
Make them your life, your world, your begining to a new start.
They brighten your day..make them the reason for one's smile.
Without realizing it you can't stand to be away from them, not even for a while.
You've lost control of your heart..it's now placed in the palms of their hands.
Why one does this, not sure i understand.
Hand them the most precious thing..just to have it broken and torn.
Have them abuse it and fool you..only for them to hurt you with a great and piercing thorn.
It's hard to stay away from the false words and pain.
Hoping that it might go back to the time before the sorrowful rain.
Holding on to the past only to have it tear you down.
Having no sense of joy and having every smile turn to a frown.
Harder to let go, harder to move on.
Harder to say goodbye to what's already left you and gone.
