How could he have done this?

How could he have done this?

A Poem by Hidden Sunshine

The house was cold and dark

and filled with a presence of death.

I walked in slowly and scared

as a sight caught a hold of my breath.

My heart began to thunder

as it pumped in an unspeakable speed.

My eyes began to widen

as the blood began to lead.

It led me to a room

confined in darkness and in grief.

I lit the light to see the cause of this

and what I saw left me in disbelief.

He laid on the floor

with his wrists opened wide.

His color was gone

and left with no pride.

The piece of sharp metal laid next to his hand.

Covered in blood and with fingerprints from his past.

His eyes were wide open frozen in time.

A sight that in me forever will last.

My heart became still when I looked at his face

for he was boyfriend, my lover, and my friend.

I never thought he would take his own life

but the day finally came when he wanted to end.

He left me alone

with just memories in mind.

How could he have done this?

Just be so unkind.

Though he is gone

he left anger in me.

He ruined the moments

and the future that could be.

:( I've had two close friends commit suicide. I can feel the pain here. So sad.
