THE "KNIGHT" BEFORE CHRISTMAS

THE "KNIGHT" BEFORE CHRISTMAS

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

 THE "KNIGHT" BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Twas the knight before Christmas

When here on the web

Was Susie and Linda

And Jenney and Deb

Waiting to see

If their knight would come through

With a poem or a prose

As they knew he would do

No trips to the bathroom

Or even the fridge

Gonna wait right here

On sweet Mary's Bridge

Looking for romance

They stared at the screen

Drinking their coffee

In need of caffeine

Where could he be

It's almost midnight

Is he typing away

Spelling words right?

Then all of a sudden

It finally appeared

From the blue-eyed knight

With the Santa white beard

A romantic prose

That made them all sigh

Reaching for tissues

For there was not a dry eye

With words so loving

Heartfelt and sweet

The Tarnished Knight

Swept them off their feet

So off to sleep

They went with a smile

With visions of romance

If just for a while

And they heard him say

Though he was not in sight

Merry Christmas to all

From your own Tarnished Knight

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
