THE LITTLE THINGS

THE LITTLE THINGS

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

The Little Things

Some women want for money
And a man with fancy cars
A house with all it's trimmings
Diamonds sparkling like the stars

To have it all means everything
After all, what would they say?
Keeping up with the “Jones'”
They strive for day to day

Swimming pools and tennis courts
Vacations everywhere
These things are just material
Not for me, I just don't care

I'd rather have the little things
The hugs and kisses too
The note left on the table
Words written “I love you”

To wake up in the morning
And see you next to me
Your smiling face and loving eyes
No place I'd rather be

These little things are priceless
Because they're from the heart
Material things will come and go
But our love will not depart

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
