THE QUIET OF MY SPIRITA Poem by Barbara LynneThe Quiet Of My Spirit If you listen very carefully Be still and you might hear it It's a peace that rests within me Known as the quiet of my spirit Sometimes I stand surrounded In the busyness of a crowd The chatter and the noise Often seem so very loud Escape from all the hustle Can't come fast enough for me Thoughts of a quiet, peaceful place Is where I long to be So I close my eyes for just a while And let the world around me fade As the peacefulness surrounds me In a place noise can't invade A warmth comes over my body The quiet becomes so clear The sound of silence dances What a pleasure to my ear This peace I have that embraces me Can not be touched, you can't get near it But if you come close you just might hear The quiet of my spirit
