A REPLY TO "LUNCH AT THE BISTRO"

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

A REPLY TO LUNCH AT THE BISTRO

Lunch sounds just wonderful

At the Bistro down the street

Just let me know the day and time

That you would like to meet

You know how much I'd love

To share a table and some wine

We can talk about those "differences"

As we sit outside to dine

The good things that we shared

From the past will make us cry

Remembering those feelings

How did we let them die?

I know we have to try again

Our love is worth the chance

You always used to say

I'd be your final dance

So yes, please call that Bistro

Make a reservation just for two

Seems that trying to stay apart

Is something we both can't do

And when you take my hand

With your gentle, loving touch

My eyes will say what's in my heart

"I love you oh so much"

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
