LONELY LADY

LONELY LADY

A Poem by Barbara Lynne
"

A SONG I WROTE 22 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS FEELING "EMPTY"

"
LONELY LADY

Lonely lady sitting by the phone...all alone
she listens for her children
playing in their rooms
But they're gone

And late at night you can hear her cry
Cry herself to sleep
And late at night you can hear her cry
Lonely lady weep

She runs to see the flowers
That grew outside her door...nevermore
She stops to dust the toys
That once sat on a shelf...no more

And late at night you can hear her cry
Cry herself to sleep
And late at night you can hear her cry
Lonely lady weep

Lonely lady will you ever be free of me

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
