Did you ever feel alone

In the middle of a crowd

Or listen to soft music 

Yet think it was too loud

Did you ever go to dinner 

And order from the "price"

And wind up having nothing 

But a dish of beans and rice

Did you ever get up early 

Just to see the sun arrive

Glad you actually woke up 

And found you were alive

Did you ever think your day 

Could get any better

Then open up your mail 

And find a "dear John" letter

Did you ever think that anyone 

Would read the words your write

Especially when you write them
