As the  day comes to an end

And we settle down to rest

You wrap me in your arms

My head upon your chest

I ask you how your day was

You answer with a smile

"My day was simply perfect

I thought of you all the while"

And then I gently kiss you

And say "I missed you too"

I melt as I look into your eyes

Your eyes of misty blue

Then suddenly our long day

Is far from our thoughts as could be

The only thing that fills our minds

And when our bodies finally rest
