A LESSON FOR YOU

A LESSON FOR YOU

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

A LESSON FOR YOU

Why did he go and leave me
In such a hurried state
After all the years together
I thought I was his mate

We shared so many memories
Some good and others bad
But the way he up and left me
It hurts me and makes me sad

He wanted me to marry him
But my answer took too long
So he packed his car and headed out
Sounds like an old tear-jerking country song

Though his leaving really hurt me
That's not what got me in the end
Within a month he married
A woman he called "just a friend"

So if your man flirts with many women
And he tells you they are his friends
Remember my little story
And the wisdom that it lends

If he really loves you
His "friends" he'd leave alone
He wouldn't leave the room
When a call comes on his phone

He wouldn't get all flustered
When you ask him wher he was
And his sudden urge to sleep alone
With his answer "just beause"

So if he tells you that he loves you
That you are his one and only love
Get out that old dusty bible
And make him swear on God above!!!

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
