THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL

THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

The Greatest Gift Of All

 How lovely is the sunset
Blended colors paint the sky
A “picture perfect” evening
A gentle breeze goes by

 Warmth from embers burning
In a fireplace of brick
Candles placed on crystal
Wax dripping from every wick

 Aroma from an apple pie
Topped with ice cream cold
Children listen while they eat
Grandma's favorite stories told

 Presents neath a Christmas tree
All wrapped with colors bright
Snow falls and gently coats
This wintry northern night

Each moment is a precious gift
As memories do recall
But when they're shared with the one you love
It's the greatest gift of all

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
