QUIET TO SHARE

QUIET TO SHARE

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

Quiet To Share

How peaceful it is when I come home

The quiet echos throughout the house

I kick off my shoes and pour some wine

My aching bones in the bathtub I douse

Then I get into something comfortable

As I search for something to eat

Turn on the TV and get in my chair

But first I must turn up the heat

And as I sit there all alone

I sadly look at my empty house

I realize that I am so lonely

And wish that I had a spouse

Being alone has had it's perks

There is no one that I answer to

I go out when I want anytime day or night

It's up to me, what I choose to do

No need for a hot meal on the table

I can watch TV all night long

I can cry and not be embarrassed

I can scream or break out in song

But I would give that all up in a minute

If loved by someone who'dcare

To have his arms around me

To hold me and always be there

I would gladly give up the quiet

And even my old favorite chair

If someone would love me forever

With him my life I would share

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
