YOU'RE THE OTHER HALF OF MY HEARTA Poem by Barbara Lynne
How
strange it is, this bond we have
Unbreakable,
though we have tried
We've
shared some laughs along the way
At
times we've even cried
Our
love felt just like spring time
We
watched the blossoms grow
The
daffodils and tulips
Gave
a lovely afterglow
But
just like spring comes to an end
Our
season began to change
We
felt a difference in our hearts
A
feeling new, yet strange
There
always seemed to be something
that
tried to get in the way
the
distance was a problem
a
price we had to pay
Faith
was the greatest mountain
Our
differences were hard to ignore
We
tried so hard to compromise
But
it became a difficult chore
We
tried to hide our feelings
Make
things easier on each other
But
the fire burning deep within
Had
a flame we could not smother
Though
hard we both decided
Our
love must stay at bay
We
tried to blend our lives
But
just couldn't find a way
So
the love we share together
Will
forever be in our hearts
Knowing
we're always connected
Is
where the beauty of friendship starts
You
will always be there for me
And
from you I will never part
You'll
always be my one true love
You're
the other half of my heart! © 2011 Barbara Lynne |

Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..Writing
