STOP THE MERRY GO ROUND I WANT TO GET OFF!A Poem by Barbara Lynnethe choices we makeStop The Merry Go Round I Want To Get Off! Why do we make choices That will "bite" us in the end And though that does sound funny No "pun" did I intend We get in situations That make our minds confused We jump into relationships Get hurt, sometimes abused What may start out as friendship Seems harmless as can be You jump right in and get cozy Find out it's wrong, too late you see Things start to get uncomfortable And all you want is "out" Arguments and hurtful words Who cares what it's about Then you finally make the choice End the battle and try once more And once again in a short time It's worse than it was before So back to all the yelling Pack your bags and out you go Looking for that someone else Who will make your insides glow One more time you take a chance Believing it's the right choice Ignoring all the warning signs Especially that "inner" voice But back you go on the merry go round Once more you take a ride What do you have to lose Certainly not your pride Every time gets easier Your heart has lost it's feel No wonder you can't to see The one in front of you who's real © 2011 Barbara LynneReviews

Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..Writing
