A DAY OFF

A Day Off

Today's a day i'm off from work
How wonderful it is
To be able to sit and finally relax
And not be in such a "tiz"

Put my feet up and just lay back
Ah, the comfort I will feel
But then reality sets right in
I only wish that thought was real

There's piles of dirty laundry
Covering up my floor
And don't forget I have to eat
So it's off to the grocery store

Then I need to take the dog
To the vet to get her shots
The garden's a mess I need to get
So many different pots!

The cleaners the jewelers the pharmacy too
Where will I find the time?
It's a wonder I can sit in front of these keys
And write this silly rhyme

Now it's off to the doctors to get my pills
And a check up from head to toe
He says i'm stressed I need to slow down
Please keep me from telling him where to go!!!

What a site I am when I unload my car
How I pray that no one will see
How strange I look as I carry this load
Oh no...I've dropped my key!!!

Finally I made it back in my house
Where I drop everything on the floor
And I think as I rub my poor aching feet
WORK looks better to me more and more!

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
