CHRISTMAS MORNING

CHRISTMAS MORNING

A Poem by Barbara Lynne
"

two special gifts

"

Christmas Morning

You wake up in the morning

Sleep still in your eyes

He turns to say "I love you"

Your body reacts with gentle sighs

He takes you by the hand

And together you walk to the tree

You look at the lights twinkling brightly

And notice two presents that both say "from me"

You look at each other and smile with delight

You both had the same thought in mind

To give each other one special gift

Unique and one of a kind

As we kneel on the floor together

We kiss, wrapped in each others embrace

Then we stop to open our presents

While our eyes gaze at each others face

My gift is an eyelash that fell from my eyes

The first time I cried in your arms

You held me and said you'd protect me

From hurt and all other harms

And from that day I never had fear

Of life and what it can bring

That night you asked me to be your wife

And gave me that beautiful ring

Your gift was a broken old pencil

That you used to write my first note

You said you had fallen in love with me

And your life to me you'd devote

And from that day you kept your word

You've been my love my heart and my life

Those two little gifts filled with our hearts

Unwrapped our love as husband and wife

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
