ROMANCE OF THE SERVANTSA Poem by Barbara Lynnethe patience of loveRomance Of The Servants Years ago there was a lad A youthful servant boy He worked around the castle For him there was no joy He did what others told him Never did he complain Waiting for the day to come When honor he would gain Then one day he caught a glimpse Of a lovely maiden fair Her eyes of green did sparkle Strands of gold made up her hair Being shy, the young boy took His time to make him known He watched her work so hard each day But never did she moan Finally he had the courage And asked her for her name She shyly answered as she bowed Her head bent down in shame He took her hand and held her And said “don't be afraid Come and sit beside me In the cool of the afternoon shade" There was something mystical about her The young lad was taken in He knew he had to make her his own Her heart he knew he must win The maiden felt the same way too His eyes seemed to draw her to him She knew that this was meant to be Not just a youthful whim Their love affair developed Quickly, much to their surprise They knew their love was special Seen through their loving eyes The lad now a handsome knight He finally paid his dues A wife he planned to make his own All knew who he would choose He took the hand of his maiden fair Now head of all the rest And their love by all will always be known As a love that is truly blessed © 2011 Barbara Lynne |

Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..Writing
