A Message In The Wind

The weather is quite below freezing
I feel a chill right through my bones
The wind outside is angry
I can tell by it's howling groans

I wonder why the wind is so angry
Is it tired from it's forceful night
One would think that it would lessen
And give up some of it's fight

Maybe it is trying to tell us
A message we might need to learn
The days are changing around us
Shall we heed and give concern?

Have we taken advantage of days past
Treated them with so little care
As the wind blows around debris
Left by us, we put it there

Maybe it's anger is fueled
As it blows across the earth
By the way we have treated our land
As if it didn't have much worth

Maybe it is trying to tell us
To think twice before we destroy
And once again treat our land precious
Revealing it's beauty to give our hearts joy

Again you seem to pick the words from the heavens they flow so well from your hand ... express yourself so witingly and yet with such passion that I am always amazed how you do it..... think i'll give you 9.99 on this one wink

You've quickly become one of my favorite poets with your rhythm and rhyme. The message behind this is one we all need to pay attention to and I appreciate the wind being the messenger. It's another beautiful piece that flows smoothly, yet still holds something erratic and intriguing.

I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
