THE STARS THE MOON AND YOU

THE STARS THE MOON AND YOU

sharing the heavens with you

The Stars The Moon And You

As I sit here in the quiet

And gaze to the midnight sky

I'm in awe of it's beautiful wonders

Such a sight to be seen through one's eye

Marveled by the many stars

That shine in the dark of the night

Such excitement to see one falling

With grace as it glides through it's flight

My eyes catch a glimpse of the moon

And the halo surrounding it's frame

I can almost make out a picture

Of the man in the moon with no name

I can see an image sitting

On the edge of a slice of the moon

I can, if I look intensely

See a dish run away with a spoon

And as I gaze even further

Through the dark in the deep of the night

Suddenly I feel your presence

The warmth as your arms hold me tight

The distance no longer an issue

As we look at the same spacious sky

Knowing that you see what I am seeing

Makes the distance and time ease on by

Together, apart, we touch this "night"

As we gaze at it's beautiful view

Sharing this moment of pleasure

With the stars the moon and you

This a great piece with a rhythmic rhyme scheme and words that flow into each other beautifully. I love the feeling behind it and the last stanza ended it perfectly. This really was a treat to read and I'll be sure to check out the rest of your work. :)

I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
