ERASED BY TIMEA Poem by Barbara Lynnegrowing oldERASED BY TIME
Where is that lovely young woman I wonder, where can she be Time has erased her loveliness Now there's someone else I see
A face once radiating warmth Now looks tired and so cold The years have drained her youthfulness Now stands a stranger of old
How lovely when her hair flowed And fell gently on her face Now there's many little crevices On which you hand can trace
Her spirit once beamed with energy Something everyone admired Now she struggles to prevent the fact She's growing old and tired
But one thing always will remain That time can not erase And that's the love and warmth you feel When wrapped in her embrace © 2011 Barbara Lynne |
