The Darkness

Step inside the darkness, now is your time, the darkness is waiting. Cross the threshold and let your eyes adjust slowly. The darkness is blank, expressionless, without love, without light, this is the nature of the void as seen from the outside looking in. But the darkness will hold you, the darkness will keep you warm and safe. The darkness solves the mystery, and the darkness will never let you go. Just close your eyes.

there are of course those who fear darkness .. then there are those who welcome it .. and then, there are those who suffer it .. like both fire and water .. it can be a friend, or it can be something else entirely.. end of philosophical micro rant... I did enjoy my visit to your page my fine new literary friend..

Darkness can be peaceful and it can be a bit scary... many think of it as a void...but in the poem it is described as being warm and safe... yet there still is mystery surrounding darkness...it depends where your psyche is at any moment.

I find this compelling. There is a special mystery, to me about darkness. It lends so much to the imagination. Each sound that one hears stores thought that the mind conjures into all manner of things.

i think if we don't fear it, we may embrace it.
it's like loneliness...we can be alone but not lonely.
the darkness is what we make of it...a shelter from the sun....a shelter from the riotous din of society...
a place to introspect ....a friend.

can be quite soothing
more so than frightening
you just have to know
how to embrace it
see it ..feel its serene
affect..

I am one of those that do not appreciate the darkness, further complicated by difficulties sleeping
