Tale of Revolution

Tale of Revolution

A Poem by mystichoot
"

An Observation of How Revolutions Turn Hero's into Tyrants.

"

Do you hear the drums of the fools who dare fight?

Do you hear the footsteps they take?

Do you think that they are foolish to fight?

Dare they come to the city streets?

Where many men roam,

Where have they all gone?

Do you hear the silence of the streets?

This must mean the time has come.

Can you hear the citizens sing?

They speak of love and of times lost,

Do you dare speak?

Where other tongues are lost,

Will you dare to stand tall?

Or will you shiver and fall,

Can you hear the trumpet call?

It is the sign of a new age,

Where the people dare to stand tall,

Will you be a good king?

Or will people need to stand tall?

Why do you speak of such things?

We are the best of them all,

We need not shrink because we are gods and kings,

Can you hear the citizens call?

They speak horrors, treasonous things of things that made the fallen, fall,

Will you crush these fools?

The ones that claim to have rights,

Do you hear the silence it brings?

By the dawn of the new day, will you still be king?

Or will you fall?

Do you hear the drums of the fools who dare fight?

Do you hear the footsteps they take?

Do you think that they are foolish to fight?

Dare they come to the city streets?

Where many men roam,

Where have they all gone?

Do you hear the silence of the streets?

This must mean the time has come.

My take on your work Mystichoot: the more humans crave change, the more they stay the same. The cycles keep repeating themselves leaving us none the wiser after than before change. Lessons of history remain unlearned. Power is the curse of humanity and transcending it for the common good would be cause for rejoicing. Alas, that is not to be. Thank you for the inspiring piece.
