The Desert rose

The Desert rose

A Poem by Aishwarya Ramamoorthy
"

Roses have always been ornamental flowers, adored for their beauty... does beauty define who someone is?

"
A rose is a rose is a rose,
So goes the saying..
Is a rose just a rose?
In Every withered petal that falls,
In every thorn that wounds,
In every pot its planted,
Theres a journey that is vast.
Some are just garden roses
So beautiful, thinking they'll last...
While their fragrance disappears
Among a thousand other roses.
Some of them planted in a pot
Standing alone yet tall and stout.
And there are the difficult ones,
With wild thorns and thick branches
But lifeless colours that fade.
Some roses are aimed to please
And then theres Adenium, the desert rose
Who's juices would give you a clean kill.
A rose isnt just a rose.
