2. D-Day, dream day..?

2. D-Day, dream day..?

A Poem by Sabina

2 hours slept that night...
Got up at 4, cuddled the cat
And listened to the rain

The train left at 7
So I sat there with my thoughts
Afraid I'll wreck it all

Stressed on the train,
Panicked and shaking
But there you were, just waiting
With 7 roses in your hands,
For every month we talked,
Green paper wrapped around them
Because you paid attention and remembered...

You know nothing about the way I felt as I approached you
Wondering who you pictured was behind that screen
The silence that surrounded me -  a suffocating blanket;
I didn't know how to escape it.

Butterflies when we started talking,
Finally revealing our voices to each other
You gentle and polite as can be
Asking for a hug before I left...

Was it a dream...?

912, always
