Empty Shoreline

Empty Shoreline

A Poem by The Night Poet
"

Two spirits separated at the peak of their love

"

An Empty Shoreline

The music plays like constant waves

Upon an empty shoreline

My words of love that whispered in her ear

Have now turned to tears

Smiling, as we kissed and danced together

In nature's chorus line

Time only knows how long will I

Continue to miss her love and affection

Every part of my body and soul

Longs for a reconnection

I dare not wait until another lifetime

To unite us again and have her near

Spirits of the night, call to her that she may hear

Together we must be

And fulfill love's plea

The music plays like constant waves

Upon an empty shoreline

Great prose my friend - emotional, soulful, pictorial wordplay and very moving! I really enjoyed the read and the message within the text (I've been there - so also very poignant to myself) ... :-)

May the music play like constant waves
upon the shoreline of your soul.
The Night Poet
The beach can be so many things all at once. I know, I lived on one for fifteen years. But my favorite time to walk it was at dusk and dawn in late fall and early winter. It was deserted then. And if I was happy, it seemed as though the waves, the sky, the moon, the sun, the gulls and even the shells were happy too. But if I was sad or depressed, those same things seemed to be sad too, even though they had not changed one iota. To miss someone as terribly as this at a place that harbors the happiest memories is almost unbearable. I know this too. I've made many requests to the moon to deliver my messages to the soul I miss, both living and dead. I've left a lot of tears in the Atlantic and I'm sure I'll be making her even deeper before my time comes.

Sounds like you might have been there with me and I missed you in the darkness.
'Empty shoreline' very well woven term and throughout the poem you managed very well to express the feeling of being along the empty shoreline.
