The Piercing FogA Poem by The Night Poet
Come along you piercing fog, come along
I’ve been waiting for you to come upon me Your icy chilling crystals tingle sharply upon my face You grow near and drive deep piercing my heart Wanting to break me down till I crumble My horn's voice speaks from deep within my searching soul Haunted by the echoes of the fallen sailors Calling again and again desperately lost in time Yet I ne'er forgotten Radiant and bright I have been Circling the galaxies for time’s lost loves Pray they may see me tonight and turn their course Guided towards my heart Far in the distance of space unknown A safe harbor has long been evaded by your darkness, With promises made ne'er kept Evaded by bleak storms, winds, and crashing waves All commanded by you, the piercing fog One valiant soul left on the bow of lover’s dreams Lays still, wet, weak but not abandoned Although by you, I cannot see I will sing aloud over the sea Where his voyage to his destiny will be fulfilled Driven by centuries of loneliness and heartache, He will not this time be denied © 2018 The Night PoetFeatured Review
