Silent Storms

Silent Storms

A Poem by Chloe Powell
"

This poem was written inspired by a prompt I found: Describe a storm without using sound.

"

The windows rattle,
My bed shakes me awake.

Rain drops drip,
Leaving trails on my windows.

The cold wind blows.

As I open the front door,
The oddly refreshing scent of salt pours,
Filling my thoughts with relief.

White bolts flash.

The windows rattle,
I fear they'll crack.
But soon I'll be left
Alone again.
With nothing but the rain
And the sounds of my own breath.

About
I love writing, though I'm probably not even close to being the best. I always either write or draw during my free time and would very much enjoy even a small amount of recognition. I post on Wattpad .. more..
