Key To My Heart

Key To My Heart

A Poem by Chloe Powell
"

Poetry speaks for itself

"

Talk to me,
Not with your voice,
Talk to me through your actions,
Talk to me with your heart.
Not just when you're bored,
Not just when you're lonely.
Talk to me,
Take the time,
Say the words "you are mine."
Talk to me,
About everything,
Talk about the bitter,
Talk about the sweet,
and all that lies in between.

Listen to me,
Without using your ears,
Listen to me with your heart.
Listen to me,
Not just the words I shout,
Nor the words struggling to get out.
Listen to me,
To my actions,
The way I hide my face when something's not right.

Look at me,
Without using your eyes.
Look at me with your heart.
Look at me,
Not for the body my strength wraps itself in,
Not for my haunting past, nor my darkest secrets.
Look at me,
For who I truly am.

Be you.
That's the best you can do.
To win my heart,
Be you.
With your loving eyes,
and gentle smile,
Be you.
Drown my ears with your laughter,
Fill them with your sweet tasting voice.

Be you.

About
I love writing, though I'm probably not even close to being the best. I always either write or draw during my free time and would very much enjoy even a small amount of recognition. I post on Wattpad .. more..
