Perfect Girl

Perfect Girl

A Poem by ARH

I envy you,
Perfect girl.
With your perfect long hair,
and your perfect smile.
Why can't I be like you?
Everyone knows you,
everyone likes you.
Your talent overshadows,
my boring unimportance.
Why can't I be like you?

Inside you are sad,
inside you are hurt.
You wear your fake, perfect, smile,
just to hide your pain.
At school you are confident,
but once you go home your weakness is shown.
Why would I want to be like you?

This is such a sad piece, it shows that everyone has masks, some even have multiple, don't they? It goes to show that not everybody is who they seem to be on the outside. Sad but true. Great piece, it speaks out to everyone. Well done, and keep it up!
