The Past Is Reborn

The Past Is Reborn

A Poem by Katy Craig

I am stopped by your presence
Your face is set in a cold stare
But why

I did nothing to hurt you
My body goes numb
Every word that leaves your mouth is toxic
I hunger for more
Every time I see your glare I choke

Shall I ever get over you
I remember the first time I saw you
The position you were in
I wish for what we once had

You turn and leave
This leaves me wanting more
Come back to me
Come back.

I find this simple, relatable, and well written. A impeccable job! Well done. :)

I can view this piece two ways. The first is that the fire woven into a interpersonal connection can be so powerful, that no matter the negative pours from one, will change a persons mind about that one, and wishing to maintain that fire with them. Fire is intoxicating after all.
The second view would be on the level on one who believes they have caused wrong, but doesn't know if that was the real reason for any interpersonal problems that may have happened. Thus the want a rematch to find out for themselves the truth.

Emotionally Full, Mentally Reflective!
Keep em coming Katy!

This truly describes your infinite love for him, even if he is speaking toxic you are there to hear more from him ... but the contrast left here leaves the reader in confusion that you choke , you go numb; but still you want to get over him
