The Stars Still ShineA Poem by Lovesleftovers
“The Stars Still Shine” I have wished to know why the stars shine while we live in darkness and despair and the world is so cold and cruel. Even as our sons and daughters die on foreign soil, the stars still shine. Though our children go to bed hungry, as our women are beaten and raped and people die of devastating disease, the stars still shine. While people judge us for the color of our skin and hate us for who we love, marry or worship, the stars still shine so bright with light and love. So that above it all, If I lift my lowered head long enough I’ll see that the stars still shine for us all.
