Does Time Heal?A Poem by Ezra Fitzgerald
Imagine if we,
Instead of the good, Hung the bad times up on the wall, How many photos would be stood? Time may give scars chances to fade, But those scars will never disappear, nor will the reason they were made. Nothing truly is fixed, Only forgotten, Memories that are good are happily stored, but what about those which are rotten? She lost her kid, only seven, to cancer, But she as a Christian, had faith, and moved on. Could we all do that? Turn back the clock? Put all those bad thoughts in a chest and throw away the key for the lock? Because if we could, And I say this honestly, A lot of us certainly would. But what would be left of all our memories? If we only remembered the good, what would happen? Would those which once seemed good fade into darkness? After all, we all need our scars. They are which make us what we are. Our minds are the monsters, We make ourselves fear, It's not death we fear, it's being alone, It's not the dark we fear, it's what may be near.
