Your Unwillingness

Your Unwillingness

A Poem by Ashley Campbell

Exhausted and confused,

So tired of being used.

I've fought and lost,

I've cried for you.

But you don't care at all.

Pushed to the brink,

You won't stop and think.

Won't stop and see.

Won't do anything,

For me.

As I watch my dreams come true,

I see them falling,

All for you.

You and the ridiculous games you play.

So fine, this line of thinning string

You'll pull until it breaks.

Though love remains,

I will abstain.

If that's what's best for me.

Perhaps with time, you'll start to see.

All the things you do.

And perhaps with time, you'll want to see.

This something beautiful,

He sparks in me.
