Everything

Everything

A Poem by Ashley Campbell
"

A quick poem for the man I love.

"

You cut through darkness so thick,

At times,

I could barely see.

You found laughter,

When I thought I never would.

You instilled hope,

When after so many years I had found it abandoned.

The torch that lights my path through darkest hours,

The wind when I feel so numb.

My warmth in the coldest of places,

My shelter from the storm.

My peace of mind.

My life

My love

My confidant.

You’re my everything

And more.

I love poems that end in "and more." I don't know why, but that is probably my favorite phrase in the entire English language. I love that you didn't have any set structure for this one. Cutsy love poems aren't really my thing, but you portrayed your point well without being overboard lovey dovey. I liked it.

smooth, really smooth. I like the second stanza, it's my favorite because it elaborates more with a wirl-wind of awesome visual. Then the ending is very Dramatic in a good way! You want to hold the reader. And by spacing out the sentences you make the words blunt and emotional.
