Eternity's PriceA Poem by Ashley CampbellTitle may change -_-.Come to me by moonlight, dear. Here rest all your fears; Fret not the thoughts that plague your mind. Here. Rest all your fears. Drop your guard and rest your eyes, love. The end is almost near …. Near enough to touch your skin, To smell your scent, To smile, To lick its lips so delicately, To praise the feast to come. And it was your life, my love, which bought my soul’s
demise. A promise of eternal life, You The lone prize. With Loki’s tongue a bargain spun, A delicate web of silver. Hissed from the serpents lips; A magnetizing allure. “Eternal life I offer you. All for the life of one.” “All for the life of one.” It cooed. Granted immortality, Eternal health and youth. Gifted an angel’s face, How could one refuse? Days turned to weeks, Weeks to Months, Months to years, Centuries. And I longed for you, No one else would do. Your smile, Your eyes, Your touch. No one else would do. No one else will do. Centuries of mourning, dear, to you I cannot repent. Centuries of loathing, dear, but this was my descent. Come to me by moonlight, love, Here rest all your fears. A shallow grave of heartache, darling, I drowned in all my tears. © 2011 Ashley CampbellReviews
