Remembering Overcast DaysA Poem by Bell SpaldingOr, my most memorable one and how I put up with it
There are days when the sun is missing
They're my least favorite days, except for one about a year ago... The last day of the Champlain Valley fair, Where the lines were empty and it was just drizzling out As my best friend and I whipped around and around on a swing ride several feet in the air Rain hitting both of our glasses, blinding us almost completely Completely soaking hair blown out behind us The only light the artificial, warm peach-tinted glow From the center of the ride The supposed-to-be miserable day a kaleidoscope of enchanting lights and colors And wind and uninterrupted laughter and an undiscovered kind of magic
