Simplicity in the dim shadows
Lacing and weaving along my bedroom walls.
I watch the colors churn
Through opaque eyes
And dancing thoughts of sleep.
I wish
I wish
To see again, my dear how long it's been
to see something beyond
Just shadows on the
Cold
Cold
Walls.
alas, with eyes astray
the shadows sent
Away.
I want to sleep forever.

You paint such a clear image with your words. I feel the chill as the eyes close and everything begins to fade. Yet... I then start thinking... what next? This can't be the end, all of everything, right now, here! So just as your about to drift off to a sleep that is that calm drift upon the etheriums clouds.... The floor crashed out from underneath you and you're sent falling into some other extra-worldy dimension!

Or...well... that's how my imagination reacted to it... =)

Dear Aaron, i admire your unique perspective on things. I swear everything you say shape shifts my mind a little. Upon finishing this poem i felt similarly about it, but i like that its open to inturpritation. thank you once again for your input.

Many thanks and I have to agree that it is the myriad of interpretations that are brought forward that make poetry the grand avenue that it is. We as poets often learn more about the largeness of life by how people respond to our works, than we could have ever have come up with while our pen scribbled the words down. It makes one wonder if we are not all little God-Quills that are unaware of the work we must do or bring forth. =)
