snow

snow

A Poem by honeyleens

snow falls on my dreams
while i sleep, like
a tree falling in an empty wood.
simple and quiet as a smile,
but sharp like cracked lips,
and crinkled skin while
in the winter chill.

and i remember now,
you are there with me.
the white in your hair
like you are wiser and
grew through clouds to care.
the color marking the years
gone by with nary a sound,
just a twinkle in your eyes,
quick like the glimmer found
on subway panes of neon lights.

when the snow stops its motion,
i hug you like i would the ocean:
grip you tightly and watch
you slip between my breasts
and hands and soul,
leaving me ice cold.
and now, I am standing alone
by this snow-globe train stop,
watching the tail lights of
your train - your soul - leaving me.

once again.
