Like in a distant fog my head has been

Lost like a breeze in a turbulent wind.

I cannot believe the way this became

This path of life we’ve chosen

I did not abide and now I confide

That trouble begins again.

 

I truly perceive the basic rules

Yet we chose to not follow

Now you tumbled into the wall

We wished not to seek

My life not in danger for nearly a mile

But I feel the worry begin to seep.

 

Sorrow fills this heart for I am sorry

I do not mean to be a burden.

Whiny complaints have uttered from

These lips of poison and of love,

I hate to be this way.

 

My wish to rekindle the fire

Like it used to be

Strike the match

Watch the blaze flare.

 

My heart yearns for you as always

I hope you can forgive

And we can start on a blank page

To write our story again.
