Forget Me

Forget Me

A Poem by TransparentHearts
"

Written a long time ago...

"

I just tried and tried and I will not deny

I may have screwed up again this time

It wasn't the first and won't be the last

This time is sure tore me as fast

Erase me from your memories and your hearts

I was nothing more I was something less

I'm sorry for this heart attack between you and me

Bleeding from the outside in to see

Write my name in ashes and burn my soul

Condemn me for all my sins and what I have done

As I pay the toll to the next realm forget me

This night has spared me for the last tendency

Leave me behind in this cloud of smoke

I cry out for forgiveness from you

All I hear is the echoes of the ancient past

Coming to haunt my soul shadows cast

A withering black rose I have found

Foreshadowing the darkness seeping in

I pray for you each and every day

Spare me this last I have come to pray

The classic contradiction of wording, prose and emotion, you write well, and pull a reader into the tangled web of thinking, well done good read

I'm a little bit confused. The persona of this poem seems to want forgiveness and at the same time condemnation. But on second thought, I think that's how real life is, so much more conflicting and sometimes totally irrational. I like the angst tone of your piece. I find it really touching.

Keep Writing. ^___^
