Talent and Recognition

Talent and Recognition

A Poem by TransparentHearts

Do I deserve the fame and the glory that goes with it?

Am I the one to win it all in one fell swoop?

No, for there are others far more talented

That surpass me with flying colors

And a passion so deep it runs deeper than

The rivers that tosses and turns with rapids

Of whites and blues and waves of music

Flowing through the pen, mixing with ink

And scrawling out onto paper and creating

Something bigger, something better

Something, a necessity of life, that makes

The world go round and round til

We hit the ground in one fell swoop.

The fame, the glory, they're just a perk

To the wonderous life of the artist at work.

The words are the power of the creator,

Imbued with the passion welling up inside

The artist with a talent, with a love

Greater than mine that makes the world

Spin with their works, their masterpieces

That the readers take in and swallow up

Bit by bit, no words escaping their wrath.

Will I make it to that point of no return?

Not in one fell swoop, but in time.
