Why do you want me back?

 

Why do you keep pulling me back?

 

You cornered me once and asked me why I was avoiding you. I answered that I was not, which was obviously a lie. And I know you're not stupid enough to believe me.

 

Still, deep inside, I was happy because you've noticed. But your question confused me more.

 

Did I leave an empty space that only I can fill in? Why do you even care, Pierre. You're now happy with someone else. You two have already been legal wherein your parents knew the other. Then why still seek for me?

 

Do you somehow feel incomplete?

 

I want to be selfish, just this once. I want you to feel that you need me, just as I need you.

 

But I just can't. Seeing you giving so much effort in reaching me out.

 

Soon, I gave up and brought back the friendship I tried to dissolve even if it meant for me to get hurt, deepening the wound I tried so hard to heal.
