Siren Love

THEY'RE WRITING SONGS OF LOVE, BUT NOT FOR ME

I am outside my house
I sit and stare in the deep abyss of space
In the background I can hear songs
Songs that inspire love and joy
It as if they are writing songs of love....
But not for me

The songs are a work of siren
It wants to bait those that never had love
When they draw near the loveless can crash
Drown in a sea of self doubt

My soul tries to reject these songs
Yet my heart fights my soul
My heart hungers ferociously
It wants theses songs to wash over
All the pain that is enough to last a lifetime

The songs preach a love that I have yet felt
An untested truth would only do a person harm
One day I shall prove this truth for my own
When I do the songs they write for love...
Will having meaning for me

Mustafa, this was beautiful. I know this was a poem, but I could see the start of a 'short story' in this write. Maybe you could turn this into a fiction story and conclude it with a meeting of a "special someone".

I loved the title.....Sirens conjour up all sorts of mythical images. Well done, keep up the fantastic work!

When a purpose or siren appears. You will know. I met rare people in a life that made me want to be alive. Poem is very good. We are good at blocking the good things out. Always easy to have a lot of excuses. A excellent poem.
