Illusion of Friendship

Illusion of Friendship

A Poem by Huggy Bear
"

I was there for you I saved you from harm You used to call me brother You used to call me family I felt like I belonged in the world

"
I was there for you
I saved you from harm
You used to call me brother
You used to call me family
I felt like I belonged in the world

As time marched on
Your feelings changed
you make promises you never keep
You leave me hanging out late at night
When I call you
You tell me I am a nuisance

Soon the real truth comes out
You see me as weak
A person that does not deserve to be loved
You and your friends beat me for being a virgin
You spit in face and call me worthless

I am left to wonder home crying
So close to suicide
The foresight I had for life gets dimmer
I ask is this what friendship is
Is this what happens when put it on the line
I hope one day  I can find peace with others for a life time

I just 'broke up' with my "best friend" this spoke straight from my heart. Thank you, I needed this! SO incredibly powerful. Beautifully done!

There good and bad friends, in your poem are just bad friends. If its true of you then, its good that you left them they just making the others bad or even worse. Well done

Many times in life people just cannot appreciate and accept a great person when they have them. Only after they are gone will they finally realize just how much you meant...only it is too late. We cannot let people like this get us down for we are more than the cruel words they say. Do not let others tell you who you are or who you have to be...only whithin ourselves can we find who we really are...and KNOW who we are :)

This is a sad write. One feels so alone when who we thought as friends desert us. I question did they really have you interests as heart. This disturbs me Mustafa, especially the second last stanza. Nobody deserves to be treated like that! Find some 'real' friends such as the poets here. I find them to be non judgemental (at least the one's i've come across).

Thank you for sharing your feelings, which you did so well my friend.

We have few friendships in a life. A real friend will pick up up at the corner bar at three in the morning and laugh at you. A excellent poem. I believe family does let us down more then our friends.

Very heartfelt. Lay it on the line. Some friendships are fleeting, other will last as the last line references.

Write on,

Pat
