Pride

Pride

A Poem by Huggy Bear
"

I wake up in the morning I feel brand new

"
I wake up in the morning
I feel brand new
No one can stop me today
I walk to the bathroom
Look at myself in the mirror
O my do I look good
You can not mess with perfection
I get wash and get dressed

Walking out my door I look around
The aura I sense from people is meager at best
I think to myself why do they insist on being near greatness
You may say to yourself that this person is getting a big head
To those that say that let just say

There is no wrong with feeling better then most people
It gets dangerous when you can not back up claims of greatness
You expose yourself to being shot down from your perch
You fall in a pit of remorse and self-doubt
No amount of self-inflicted pride can fix the fall

Be prideful in the most honest sense
Let your hair down
Show the world you deserve to be here
Doing that can turn pride from a sin to a virtue

In the Military it was pride and disciple. We need to hold our head high and go forward in our life. I like the wisdom in your words.
